Experiencing Residencia de Riego :)

Money can’t buy happiness; this is what I found out true when we (with my friends) had a memorable experience in Residencia de Riego Resort which is located at Sitio Libis, Muzon II Alitagtag, Batangas.. A 2-3 hours bus ride away from Manila. Though it was a long travel going to the location, indeed the trip was truly worthy upon arrival. . This is a perfect place for relaxation, self relief and leisure for those who want to get rid of the busy and stressful life in Metro Manila.

Thanks to CashCashPinoy, an online site that features daily deals up to 90% off, I saved more than half of the actual price. I don’t expect much, coz I don’t want to be disappointed, but then, I was impressed with their nice and simple yet cozy ambience of the resort.

The staffs are very accommodating, the check in time was 2:00pm but they let us stay in their cottage for free (as in “libre”). We ate our packed lunch first before we decided to stroll around the vicinity. Despite that we only brought “sunog” na fried chicken and pork adobo na may saging for our lunch still, it was enough to fill our craving stomachs.

After having our lunch, the staff accommodated us in our room-to-be. We were very excited to see our tent, to let our food be digested and to have at least a little time to take a rest. In our booking we chose campsite tent costing Php1, 499.00 for four (4) persons ‘coz we wanted to feel like a cast-away even for one (1) night.  It’s not because the tent was not nice but knowing the fact that we were alone in that area, we changed our minds in an instant (it was Sunday kasi kaya konte lang tao doon, unfortunately, kami lang ang mag-te-tent). So we decided to upgrade our room to Deluxe so we paid additional Php600.00 for that. Only one word to describe the room- “WOW!”, an air-conditioned room with a television, toilet by our own, and mini ref inside. All we have paid was worth it.

The resort gives their customer a one hour privilege to use their amenities, volleyball, basketball, badminton, dart, billiards, and karaoke. So we don’t miss the opportunity to try each of them. These are all the memories you want to treasure forever.

Leah and I decided to take a nap for a moment after that tiring sports fest because I don’t have enough sleep before the trip so I slept for a longer time. While we (the girls) were taking our sleep, our companions (the girls to be :p) are doing some insanity/weird stuffs outside (I don’t know what particularly are that, but I can feel it). Haha. They enjoyed each other’s company while enjoying the picturesque of the resort. They toured around for a while and feel the frosty water of the pool.

I was awakened by the cold breeze of aircon in our room, so I have decided to get out and observed Residencia de Riego’s colorful pool. Their pool was truly great and amazing. What a bright idea to put underwater light effects, it turns from being simple to FANTASTIC!

We took a lot of pictures beside the pool, for remembrance and for documentation too. Hehe. Before we decided to swim, we hang out through videoke for awhile. We do love to sing; even though songs don’t love us. Haha. We maximized the used of our one hour free-to-use of their Karaoke. I can’t forget the time when we all sang the song “Nothing Gonna Stop Us Now” (Theme Song???) haha. We had our dinner, and as usual yun pa din ang pagkain nmin Haha.

Mini Bar
We decided to swim after an hour of sing-a-long madness. But because it’s too late na and the water was so “lamig”, we don’t stay there for long.

We left the resort at 5:00 in the morning. Since it was Monday and an office day, we need to rush back in Makati. We were asleep in standing position as we travel; it was ok though because we were all carrying good memories from our escapade an Adventure as they say.

An outdoor expedition is good and it’s even better if you are spending it with friends. It was here I proved to myself that happiness is priceless; it can’t be equated by anything.

The City of Lights, Hong Kong

Year 2009 was the first time I traveled abroad. I was given the chance to see the beauty of Hong Kong when my mother’s employer shouldered my expenses including the airfare, accommodation and a day pass in Hong Kong Disneyland. It was a dream came true!!!

I made sure all my necessary documents were on hand before I leave. My mother told me to be clever in answering all immigration officers’ questions. Wag daw “patanga-tanga”. Because it was my first time, I can’t help myself to feel tense and afraid especially when it comes to xray machine. Dunno why, OA dba??? Haha.

After 1 hour and 45mins on plane, I finally arrived at Hong Kong International Airport. When the aircrew announced that we can now get our bags, I got so excited to aboard; I carefully fall-in-line, and alight the plane. I was so amazed in the structure of the airport. There’s a train inside, waiting to bring you to the immigration hall.

OMG, I felt so nervous from time to time when I see that I’m getting closer with the immigration officer. I’m afraid not because I can’t speak and understand English but to a lot of questions they may ask. Ito na., Unfortunately, when I gave my passport I forgot to give my plane ticket because when the immigration officer asked it to me, it sounds “particle”. It was my most embarrassing experience hahaha.. Something like I felt so “Bobo” but honestly I can’t understand what he’s saying. Sarap hilain ng dila hahaha. Thanks to Ale, the one I met in the plane, she told me plane ticket mu daw. Hahaha grabe ha. Dapat talaga lumabas ng bansa kahit papaano para hindi maging ignorante sa mga bagay na bago sa pandinig mo,hahaha. After passing by in the immigration, I wait for awhile and get my baggage, after then, I say thank you to the Ale and say goodbye.

WHAT TO SEE IN HONG KONG:

First on my list is the Hong Kong Disneyland, a place where you can see the famous cartoon character Mickey Mouse & Minnie Mouse & their friends.

Ocean Park, Hong Kong --- a marine mammal park, oceanarium, animal theme park and amusement park.  If you are thrill seeker, this place is the best for you, where you can find different breathtaking rides.

The Peak --- where you can see the fabulous panoramic views of Hong Kong.

The Big Buddha --- located on the hills of Lantau Island, The Big Buddha is one of the city’s most impressive sights.

Hong Kong Park ---  a  public park that you will be able to relax and see the perfect structures of  waterfalls.

I can’t remember exactly what had happened during this trip. All I knew was that I enjoyed a lot. Haha. I will give more info on my 2012 Hong Kong trip.

Isdaan Floating Restaurant :)

I need to wake up early to catch up in our call time at 6:00am. I set alarm at 5:00am so I will not be late since it is the first time that I’ll be going out with my officemates- Ms. Nhygien (Customer Service Manager) and Sir Jec (Logistic Manager), I am looking forward for more exciting and adventurous trip with them.

Isdaan Floating Restaurant is located along National Highway of Barangay Hanggan Calauan Laguna, a sister company of Barrio Fiesta owned by the family Ongpauco. Isdaan Floating Restaurant is not literally just a restaurant but a place for a total-package-experience- they offer a place to eat and a place for entertainment. There are lots of things to see and do.

It was a 2hour-drive from Manila to Calauan Laguna, though it also depends upon the traffic and the number of bus stops. We left at 7:30 am in the bus terminal and we arrived at exactly 9:30am in Isdaan Floating Restaurant. We were welcomed with the Gigantic Statue of Buddha, Hindu figures and life-sized Statue of Famous people, and characters from different animated movies.
`

Isdaan Floating Restaurant serves Traditional Filipino dishes like Tinola and Sinigang, and of course the variety of seafood- fried, grilled, savory. The ordinary meal costs from Php300.00-Php400.00 and can cost even higher depending on the menu you want. Definitely, it is not affordable and satisfying. So, if you want more economical and cheap dining, Isdaan is not the best choice for you.
